Cripple Creek--Henry Bros. Electronics, Inc., a turnkey provider of technology-based integrated electronic security solutions, and Verint Systems Inc. today announced that they have been contracted by Bronco Billy's Cripple Creek Casino and implemented an IP-based CCTV solution for the security and surveillance of its operations. Located against the Rocky Mountains in Cripple Creek, Colorado, the casino offers a wide array of gaming activities including 764 slot machines and 12 table games.
As part of the multi-phase project, Henry Bros. is employing an integrated security solution with Verint's Nextiva(R) Critical Infrastructure platform in order to transform the casino's analog surveillance system into a robust, scalable IP-based system. With phase I and II already complete, 88 cameras have been integrated with the Verint Nextiva solution, allowing the casino to run an intelligent video network. In full operation, the IP system has been inspected and approved by the Colorado Gaming Commission (CGC), meeting new gaming commission requirements.
Phase III of the project will allow an additional 92 cameras to be installed onto the system, providing a total of 180 cameras throughout the network. Bronco Billy's ultimate goal is to migrate all of its cameras over to the new IP-based system, bringing the total number on the system to nearly 300. While adhering to the stringent guidelines set forth by the CGC, the new system is expected to enhance the casino's operational flexibility, improve performance and dependability, and create a cost-saving base for further upgrades.
Kevin Friedl, casino operations director for Bronco Billy's Casino, commented on the new system, stating, "We see the future of casino gaming security as being completely IP-based, and we now consider our operations to be ahead of the curve in this regard. Verint is a clear leader in networked video solutions and Henry Bros.' ability to integrate the company's cutting-edge technology into an end-to-end security solution will be invaluable for our operations."
"We are extremely pleased to further expand our solutions into the popular and fast growing gaming industry," said Jim Clark, senior vice president and general manager of Verint Video Intelligence Solutions. "As a leading provider of networked video solutions, Verint remains committed to delivering solutions that meet the unique demands and complex security challenges of casinos around the world."
"The number one concern of any casino is security, and the team at Bronco Billy's is taking every initiative to ensure its security systems incorporate the most advanced, state-of-the-art technology," added Brian Reach, president and chief operating officer of Henry Bros. "With this system, Bronco Billy's can monitor live action and retrieve high-quality, stored images easily, enabling it to resolve potential gaming disputes or false claims quickly and effectively. We are pleased to be working with Verint on this exciting project and look forward to the continued opportunity to increase our footprint in the casino gaming arena."...read the rest
The smoke has been rising since Monday at Bronco Billy's Casino, and everyone's waiting to see whether it's extinguished... or if it spreads.
We're talking about cigarette smoke here, not fires. But the return of smoking in a Cripple Creek casino is generating plenty of heat.
Anti-smoking activists say Bronco Billy's doesn't meet the criteria to be exempt from the statewide smoking ban as a cigar bar, as the casino claims.
Cripple Creek police say they don't have the resources to determine what is a cigar bar. They say it's the state's problem....read the rest
